No. The EV200-0055G-T4 comes with a built-in braking unit. You do not need a separate chopper module. You only need to connect an external dynamic braking resistor to the PB and (+) terminals to enable fast braking for high-inertia loads like saws or centrifuges.
2. Can I run a 5.5kW motor on single-phase 220V with this drive?
No. This model (T4) requires a Three-Phase 380V input. It cannot step up single-phase 220V to 380V. If you only have single-phase power, you would need a specific single-phase input VFD (usually limited to lower horsepower) or a rotary phase converter before the drive.
